Jewellery and aircraft shared a stage at an event about international connections.
The unexpected pairing of aircraft and jewellery helped distinguish Aviation Day 2026 from a conventional airport open day. Austrian entrepreneur Oliver Weber attended the gathering at Gorna Oryahovitsa, where his eponymous jewellery brand joined the partner programme.
Oliver Weber Collection is known for fashion jewellery featuring Swarovski crystals. The event’s official partner information said the brand would present a new collection. Diamond Aircraft, also Austrian, made its first official Bulgarian presentation, while Range Rover vehicles formed part of the premium display.
The event’s creative and media connections also included Silvia Djagarova and Magazine Banker Special, complementing the presentation of Austrian jewellery design with a broader lifestyle perspective.
The combination spoke to a broader positioning of aviation as a meeting point for engineering, design, business and lifestyle. Brand participation should not be confused with a formal investment commitment in the airport.
Local youth ensembles also took part in the celebration, including the Bozhuri majorettes, a brass band, Gratsia Ballet School and the Graffiti vocal group. These performances gave families a reason to attend and linked an international business forum with the surrounding community.
The airport’s development was another theme. Then-mayor Nikolay Rashkov and Antoni Tarnitsov discussed efforts to upgrade systems and create opportunities for future operations. The airport’s transformation remains a work in progress, and participation in Aviation Day should not be mistaken for an investment agreement.
