Donald Trump renewed his immigration warnings to Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday evening, saying France risked losing its country if it failed to address what he described as an immigration problem. Speaking to Fox News Digital while campaigning in Texas ahead of the midterm elections, the US president said the protests currently sweeping the country stemmed, in his view, from immigration rather than from issues with schools.
Trump said he had discussed the matter with US Ambassador to France Charles Kushner, and said authorities needed to, in his words, get out of the country people he believes do not belong there. His warnings about immigration in Europe are not new: Trump has been making similar remarks for roughly a decade, dating back to before Emmanuel Macron even took office in 2017.
